How long have you been teaching at Frame?
I started all the way back in September 2012 Have really loved the people I’ve met along the way.
Tell us more about your training style
Slow, meditative, strong, whole hearted. This is the best description of my style … It changes as I grow and learn more.
If you weren’t an instructor what would you be?
Psychologist, possibly an ancient history lecturer or an archeologist.
Have you always been into health and fitness?
Growing up the food my family ate was always healthy and delicious – lots of fresh veg, lots of amazing tropical Sri Lankan dishes. That food has my heart and it leaves me very nourished! As I got older I entered a busy law practice. I use to work a million hours a week and it left little time for anything healthy to take place. As I discovered yoga and meditation things shifted. Mainly in my approach to life and perspective. That lead me to really prioritise my health a lot more and just generally start making better decisions.
Who is your inspiration?
Equally – my mum, dad and little brother!
I also have a handful of close friends who live such brave, authentic lives. They know who they are and I find them deeply inspiring. I’m there for them, they’re absolutely there for me and these connections are important to me.
Sum up your class in one sentence
A Spiritual practice taught in a meditative style but sill very physically challenging.
Why should we come to YOUR class?
Because I teach you what I love and it’ll make you love it too. You might start because you want a yoga body, but you’ll stay because it will get you connected to body, breath, heart.
We love healthy eating, but we all like something naughty – what’s your weakness?
Oreos … Always Oreos and Ferrero Rocher too.
Name three workout songs that you love?
Aerosmith – Dream on
Janet Jackson – If
Dr Dre – Next Episode
What’s your favourite place in London to get a drink?
I really am not cool enough to answer this question! Wherever the people I love are hanging out is absolutely my favourite place to get a drink. Really don’t mind where that is!
