A dynamic flowing pregnancy pilates class aimed at woman wanting to stay active and comfortable during their pregnancy whilst prepare their bodies for birth. Full of tips and moves to help support your body and baby during labour.
Followed by a discussion about the importance of pelvic and hip alignment on optimal fetal positioning and how osteopathy can help.
A key osteopathic philosophy is that Structure governs function. This is never more important than during pregnancy and birth; when a balanced pelvis and spine will allow the uterus and baby to be at their most comfortable and help support an easeful delivery.
We will also talk about the importance of the hip alignment for optimal fetal positioning and birth and go through exercises to keep your hips and pelvis aligned and balanced.
We will also discuss post-partum care and how cranial treatment can help babies and mothers alike– what I commonly see and how osteopathy can help.
Emma is an experienced osteopath and clinical pilates teacher and has worked in health and rehabilitation for the past 14 years.
She is particularly interested in woman’s health, prenatal and postpartum care and has attended many courses and seminars in woman’s health and visceral techniques. Using Osteopathy and Pilates, she enjoys supporting woman during pregnancy, birth and into motherhood.
Along with treating adults, Emma has gone on to do extensive post-graduate training in cranial osteopathy and paediatric osteopathy and works at the Osteopathic Centre for Children – a world-renowned center for specialised paediatric and ante/post natal osteopathy.
Her interest in treating mothers and babies has deepened since becoming a mother herself almost 3 years ago. She understands first hand the joys and challenges of pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood.
She works in private practice in Nunhead, south London and Shoreditch.
