What was your journey to becoming an instructor? How the hell did you get here?
My love of movement stems from a world of dance. With my background and experience in Contemporary dance, I ventured down many movement pathways. With time, curiosity, and while learning how to cope through the grief of a loved one, I shifted into a deeper exploration of yoga – connecting especially with vinyasa flow.
What’s your favourite way to keep a healthy body and a healthy mind?
Everything in equal measure! Spice up routine by trying new classes/activities, cycle over train. Let go over the weekends enjoying your favourite treats, while during weekdays be mindful of excess snacking and get playful with recipes! Carve out time for quiet/journaling/meditation, and accept that this time may shift as your energy shifts. You are only human!
How does your choice of exercise fit/help your day to day life?
Tuning into my bodies offerings each day. Some days moving soft and slow and others riding the vibe and sweating it out!
What is your signature move?
Spinal waves between down dog and high plank. People tend to rush, missing that juicy fluidity of the spine rippling through every single vertebra. Allow the breath to guide the movement – not the other way around. Close the eyes and feel every little sensation. With time it will feel easeful, free and oh so yummy!
What’s your favourite way to feel good fitness-wise and life wise?
Dancing! In the kitchen, the club the park… shaking about to my own beat always leaves me feeling full of life!
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
Follow your gut.
