What makes your class so f’cking awesome?
My classes are dynamic, strong but also extremely fun. Expect fluid flows which combine traditional and contemporary styles of yoga. I like to make a new inspirational playlist every month which energises the vibe in the class.

What was your journey to becoming an instructor? How the hell did you get here?
I come from a dance background and dance is still one of my passions. I then began teaching fitness classes such as circuit and aerobics but when I was travelling in Australia I started to practise yoga to help me get over my anxiety and it helped me so much that I never looked back. I trained to become a teacher in 2012 but I still consider myself a student as you never stop learning and growing as both a yoga teacher or practitioner.

What’s your favourite way to keep a healthy body and a healthy mind?
I attend as many yoga classes as possible a week as well as at least two Pilates classes as I am preparing for my Pilates teacher training. Pilates has definitely changed the way I teach and practice yoga for the better as I feel stronger than ever. I also try to make dance classes whenever possible. Dance classes always make me smile.

How does your choice of exercise fit/help your day to day life?
Like most people I can sometimes suffer with anxiety. I love that yoga and other fitness classes allow me to be in the present moment and helps me to feel refreshed.

What is your signature style?
I love helping people to master chaturanga. Most people lower down too much which can cause an injury to the rotary cuff and place pressure on the lower back. As it is repeated so much in my classes it is important to get it right. I also give people the option to lower the knees before pressing down which I call half Chaturanga. This is a great way to practice and build strength.

What’s your favourite way to feel good fitness-wise and life wise?
I attend so many different classes, I am no way a purest. Although I love yoga and I try to practice most days I also attend other classes like barre, dance and HIIT (which I also enjoy teaching) the variety keeps keeping fit fun. I also love treating myself to a tradition Turkish Hamman spa. I have Turkish family and it’s the ultimate well to unwind away from the city. At home, I love to cook and I am always trying out new health vegetarian and vegan dishes.
