What makes your class so f’cking awesome?
When it comes to exercising, I’m all about enjoyment and great music (with a good dose of effort too!). So whether you come to my Kettlebells or HiiT class, expect a fun and sweaty workout with awesome, upbeat tunes and friendly vibes that make you feel good from the inside out
What was your journey to becoming an instructor? How the hell did you get here?
After 7 years of working as a Lloyds of London insurance broker, in 2017, I decided I wanted to help people to improve their fitness and live healthier lives. I studied part-time to become an instructor and personal trainer and as soon as I qualified, I left my corporate job and started teaching and training clients in commercial gyms and studios. In 2018 I joined the FRAME family - yay!! :)
What is your signature move?
It has to be the Kettlebell (Russian) Swing! This is such a powerful and extremely effective movement that many people struggle with – usually because they do not position themselves correctly behind the bell before they swing or because they lean backwards as they stand. Essential tip: Stand two foot-lengths from the bell; hinge at the hips and bend slightly at the knees, making sure your bottom is lower than your shoulders but higher than your knees; set your shoulders back and down and tip the bell towards you to begin. Never overstretch to reach the bell before you swing.
What makes you, you?
I learnt Spanish to a proficient standard and lived in Vic, Barcelona for 6 months in a student accommodation house that was run by elderly nuns! It was a lot more fun than you'd think!
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
“Little by little, a little becomes a lot”. This is a good reminder that, in every challenge, whatever it may be, to start small and bit by bit, with time and persistence, you’ll get there…
If you weren’t an Instructor, what would you be?
I honestly can’t imagine myself doing anything else! I love my job!
