What makes your class so f’cking awesome?
My classes are always energetic and challenging but I am quick to tailor exercises on the spot for all levels and requirements, making sure everyone is working at the right intensity. I'll push you to perform at your best but I'll have a laugh with you at the same time because classes are meant to be fun and enjoyable.
What was your journey to becoming an instructor? How the hell did you get here?
I actually started off working in fitness while at university almost 20 years ago. I then had my hand in several careers before finding my way back to fitness again as, ultimately, this is my passion.
Who’s your fitness hero? Why?
My calisthenics coach Arleigh Corbin because he understands that being a coach isn't just about teaching people how to perform exercises correctly or pushing them to see physical results. He connects with each individual on a personal level and injects his wisdom at the same time and helps them evolve into the person they always wanted to be. He's also in his 50s and not showing signs of slowing down. We are all still trying to catch up to him.
What is your signature move?
Pull ups and press ups for sure. People think about them as upper body exercises and forget about everything else. In order to make these moves more efficient your core and glutes need to be engaged at all times as well. The tighter and more engaged the whole body is, the easier it will be to perform your reps.
What makes you, you?
I am the product of all the cultures and countries I grew up in. I think it's what makes me patient, understanding and open minded.
If you weren’t an Instructor, what would you be?
A travel blogger.
