What makes your class so f’cking awesome?
A contemporary twist on Classical Pilates. Challenging, focused, motivational and fun; performed to a chilled/deep House soundtrack
What was your journey to becoming an instructor? How the hell did you get here?
I’d always had a love of sport from skiing to badminton, netball and tennis, so when a friend suggested I try mat Pilates – as a complementary form of exercise – I was on it! Once I discovered the Reformer though, 3 years ago, I fell in love and packed my mat away! In fact I loved it so much that within months of attending classes at Frame I decided to train to become an instructor and when the opportunity arose to do that training with Frame I jumped at the chance.
What’s your favourite way to keep a healthy body and a healthy mind?
Eat, sleep, Reformer Pilates, repeat. And all with a huge shot of friends, family, wine/gin, laughter and turmeric
How does your choice of exercise fit/help your day to day life?
Reformer Pilates complements everything else that I do – from cycling, to dancing, to sitting to living. It keeps me moving, makes me stronger and more flexible and it helps me focus and be more body aware
Who’s your fitness hero? Why?
Denise Lewis – she’s an incredible athlete, a strong woman and a fantastic role model. She is also very generous; in my previous life I ran an event management company and every year we organised fundraisers in support of Pride in London and other LGBTQI+ charities and based on just one tweet from me she donated a pair of running shoes to our silent auction. Go Denise!
Red wine, gin, double espressos and dark chocolate
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
Life’s too short to – spend it doing the things you love
