GOOD THINGS HAPPEN WHEN YOU MOVE YOUR FRAME

Instructors

SAKIS ALBANIS

What makes your class so f’cking awesome?

If your target is a balanced, full-body workout and you like to challenge your body in terms of both strength and flexibility, you are in the right class. Expect chilled music that will keep you focus and cues that will help you move with precision for better results.

What was your journey to becoming an instructor? How the hell did you get here?

After years of office work, I acquired a very bad posture and back pain. I was suggested Pilates and it did magic to me after a few sessions. So I became curious and I wanted to learn more about the method and took the BASI teacher training. The rest is history…

Who’s your fitness hero? Why?

Rael Isacowitz, the founder of BASI Pilates. He is an innovator, he motivates students and has immense knowledge of the human body.

What is your signature move/style?

Back extension exercises, that help support the thoracic spine and improve the posture. Keep the abs well engaged, so that you don’t hyperextend the lower back and focus to extend the mid-upper back.

What does your downtime look like?

Hanging out with friends, exhibitions, cinema, restaurants, and weekend breaks.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

“If a problem is fixable, if a situation is such that you can do something about it, then there is no need to worry. If it's not fixable, then there is no help in worrying. There is no benefit in worrying whatsoever.” ― The Dalai Lama
