GOOD THINGS HAPPEN WHEN YOU MOVE YOUR FRAME

Instructors

SARAH DRIVER

What makes your class so f'cking awesome?

Big smiles, banging beats, heavy heavy heavy, and a focus on form!

What was your journey to becoming an instructor? How the hell did you get here?

In fitness classes I always used to love analysing what the instructor was doing and how I would do it differently, what music I would choose, etc. I did the Level 2 qualification and got a job at a small studio which gave me some experience, then luckily the tryouts for Frame came up and I went for it! It was so strange being in the instructor position in the studio I'd been to so much as a client, but so amazing. I got to put all my ideas into practise!

Who’s your fitness hero? Why?

I'm really obsessed with American college gymnastics, and women like Katelyn Ohashi who bring so much fun their routines while still being absolutely incredible athletes. I could watch her floor routines all day!

What is your signature move / style?

I love working with kettlebells as they're a great way to combine strength and cardio. With the single arm clean and press, for example, the key is to keep your core braced, your back flat, and use the power in your legs to drive the kettlebell overhead.

What does your downtime look like?

I actually started pole before lockdown and have one at home now, it takes a lot of strength and flexibility but it's really fun watching people do tricks on youtube and trying to work out how to do them. I spend a lot of my time doing that! And falling on my head.

If you weren’t an Instructor, what would you be?

When I was a child all I wanted to do was be in Cats the musical, so even though it's probably quite monotonous and intense once you're actually a professional dancer, and also I have no dance experience, but I still have to say, that.
