What makes your class so f’cking awesome?
My signature class is a delicious cocktail of my favourite styles including vinyasa, mandala, hatha and yin with a sprinkling of sound healing, breath work and aromatherapy.
What was your journey to becoming an instructor?
I discovered yoga because I was super stressed in my corporate job, suffered from anxiety and could not switch off! I found a sacred haven on my yoga mat and learnt to breath again, finding a sense of peace amongst the madness. That was over 15 years ago and my life has literally flipped upside down since! I feel blessed that i can share my journey, learnings and tools with others.
Who’s your fitness hero? Why?
Muhammad Ali - He stood up for what is right, he sacraficed all that he had achieved - wealth, acceptance, titles - to do what was right. On top of it he is the best boxer, showman and sportsperson that ever lived!
What is your signature move / style?
I regularly run Sensory Sound and Yin Workshops on the weekends. The sessions combine restorative yin poses with calming breathwork, relaxing aromatherapy oils and healing sound - it is rare that we take time out to fully relax and recharge our batteries, this session is the yin to the yang of life! I think people assume that they have to be seated in a cross-legged lotus position and silence their mind to meditate but there are so many techniques that make it accessible to everyone.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
Live with NO REGRETS - simple, but it finds me answers quickly even when I have complex decisions to make.
If you weren’t an Instructor, what would you be??
Racing car driver or Travel Show Presenter
