What makes your class so awesome?
Expect to get a real yoga experience! Dynamic and challenging sequences to make you feel truly connected to your best self, contextualised with the deeper teachings of yoga philosophy and an understanding of the more subtle elements of a yoga practice. My students enjoy practising in a supportive environment and to a perfectly selected playlist.
What was your journey to becoming an instructor?
I have been practicing yoga since the age of 14, through school, uni, drama school, where it actually became a big part of my training as a performer. My initial idea behind training to become a teacher was to have a flexible income that I could fit around auditions, but my love of sharing the practice of yoga quickly overtook my desire to tread the boards. It’s been about 3.5 years of teaching and I haven’t looked back.
What’s your signature style?
Advancing your yoga practice with strong groundwork. People mistake strong/advanced yoga with the fancy poses, when actually it’s about finding a deeper strength that can be used to improve every area of your life and not just your handstand.
What makes you, you?
I used to do stand up comedy! I have a flair for fun and humour that I weave into my teaching, which I think helps my student’s not to take themselves too seriously and enjoy the process.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
If you catch yourself judging someone else, the problem probably is yours, not theirs.
If you weren’t an instructor what would you be?
Travelling the world in someone capacity, whether touring with a theatre or being a travel writer.
