5 things you need to know about Frame Step

In 2023 we launched a fresh take on the 90’s fitness fad Step Aerobics. It’s taking all the best bits of the original workout and bringing it bang up to date with modern tracks. If you’re thinking about getting your step on this January, here are 5 things for you to bear in mind.

1 Come with a beginner's mindset.

So, there are a lot of combos to get your head around. And like with anything new, it’s going to feel a little frustrating when you don’t get it straight away. BUT if you do a minimum of 3 Frame Step classes you will feel like a Step Queen (or King!) when you nail the whole routine.

2 You better work b*tch…

Although this class promises lots of fun, don’t let that fool you into thinking it’s easy. Expect a high-intensity workout, lots of cardio tracks with a conditioning track for building strength.

3 The physical benefits.

Step is great to get your heart rate up (we counted an average hr of 127 bpm!) and blood pumping to improve your cardiovascular health. All that stepping will increase your leg strength and the conditioning section of the class will work on strengthening your whole body.

4 It’s kind to the mind.

Apart from the physical benefits, the mental benefits are pretty impressive. Following the step choreography requires concentration and coordination so it’s a great mind-body workout. And let’s not forget mood boosting. One report found that high-intensity Step Aerobic training resulted in lower levels of tension, depression and fatigue.

5 It’s a little bit addictive.

Don’t be surprised if you get totally hooked on Frame Step. There’s nothing quite like it and the feeling of nailing that routine and getting stronger week on week is pretty addictive!
